How it works
The Town Board is deliberately small. There is no algorithm deciding who sees what, no paid placement, and no agency in the middle taking a cut. A person reads every posting before it goes up, and that is the whole moderation policy.
If you are looking for work
Search the board by keyword, trade or the kind of hours you want. Every posting says who the employer is, where the work is, what the hours look like and — where the employer has told us — what it pays.
When you find something, open it and fill in the short form at the bottom: your name, your email, an optional phone number and a note about why you are a good fit. That goes straight to the employer. You do not create an account, you do not upload a CV, and you never pay anything.
Write the note the way you would speak. Two or three honest sentences about what you have done and when you could start beats a paragraph of formal language every time.
If you are hiring
Use the post a job form. It asks for the job title, your business, where the work is, the trade and the hours, the pay if you are happy to state it, and a description. You can take applications by email or send people to your own link.
Once you send it, the posting goes to review. We read it, check it is a real job with a real employer, and put it on the board. You get an email when it is live. Posting is free and the posting stays up until you fill the role or ask us to take it down.
What we will not put on the board
Anything that asks a candidate to pay a fee, hand over bank details, or buy equipment or training as a condition of getting the job. Anything that is not a real, paid position. Anything that is discriminatory. If you see a posting that looks wrong, tell us and we will take it down while we check.
Questions people ask
Does it cost anything?
No. Posting is free and applying is free. Nobody pays to be on this board.
How long does review take?
Usually within a day. If something is unclear in your posting we will email you rather than guess.
Can I edit a posting after it goes up?
Yes — reply to the email you got when it went live and tell us what to change.
Do you share my details with anyone else?
No. Your application goes to the employer for that job and a copy comes to the board so we can follow up if something goes wrong. It is not used for anything else.
